Fracture-dislocation about the finger joints.

چکیده
Fracture-dislocations in the small joints of the fingers are challenging injuries. The surgeon must choose an appropriate treatment based on fracture pattern, joint stability, and injury chronicity. Fracture-dislocations of the proximal interphalangeal joint are notoriously unforgiving, with potential long-term sequelae of residual pain and stiffness. Similar injuries in the distal interphalangeal joint are more tolerant of fracture displacement and even joint subluxation. Dorsal dislocations of the metacarpophalangeal joint may be associated with shearing fractures of the metacarpal head but are most notable for the volar plate interposition that may block closed reduction.

Recurrent Dislocation of the Proximal Interphalangeal Joint of the Finger: A Rare Issue in Hand Surgery
Recurrent dislocation is not common in small joints. This report presents a new case of chronic recurrent dislocation of proximal interphalangeal joint of the finger in which soft tissue injuries have a role in the dislocation. The patient was a 23 years old man who had referred to our center because of recurrent dislocation of proximal interphalangeal joint of his right ring finger during spor...
متن کاملSimultaneous Bennett's fracture and metacarpophalangeal dislocation of the same thumb in a soccer player.
Double dislocations of finger joints are rare. An unusual case of a simultaneous Bennett's fracture/dislocation ofthe carpometacarpal joint and a dorsal dislocation of the metacarpophalangeal joint of the same thumb, and the management of this injury are reported. The patient had an excellent functional result.
متن کاملCommon finger fractures and dislocations.
Finger fractures and dislocations are common injuries that are often managed by family physicians. A systematic physical examination is imperative to avoid complications and poor outcomes following these injuries. Radiography (commonly anteroposterior, true lateral, and oblique views) is required in the evaluation of finger fractures and dislocations. Dorsal dislocation of the proximal interpha...

Case report: Herein we report a patient in whom, simultaneous fracture/dislocation of these joints had occurred in two of the fingers of his right hand. Aside from reporting our case, a ...
